The district of Cologne Dellbrück

Dellbrück is located on the right bank of the Rhine and borders east of Bergisch Gladbach, south of Brück and west of Merheim , Holweide and Höhenhaus. thin forest forms the northern border.
History
A settlement has been documented since the Hallstatt period (1000 and 500 BC). On the Iddelsfeld Hardt (south of the Thurner Hof) is the burial ground, which is one of the largest in the area around Sieg to Wupper. It is also one of the best preserved. There were also burial mounds along the mouse path and along the mushroom path. Racing stoves were also found, where turf iron was smelted into iron in the Hallstein Age.
The district of Thurn was mentioned in a document in 1322 as the residence of the family "vamme Thurne" , which means "from the tower". In 1413 the Good Mielen Forest was mentioned as a knight's seat. Cologne-Dellbrück belonged to the Porz office since the Middle Ages. Dellbrück originated from the districts (Alt) -Dellbrück, Hagedorn, Strunden and Thurn. Since January 27, 1814, these districts have belonged to the district of Mülheim.
The renaming
Thurn-Strunden was renamed Dellbrück. The name was changed on June 23, 1905. Nevertheless, the old name Thurn-Strunden still exists. The district name "Thurn-Strunden" is still used in the property register. There are four mills in the district of Dellbrück that use hydropower. These are the Strunder mill, the Hardt mill, the Thurn mill and the Graefen mill.
The beach was upgraded as a cultural and landscape axis in the project Regionale 2010 "RegioGrün" with a path connection.

The fairytale settlement
The fairytale settlement was created partly in the area of Dellbrück. The other part is in Holweide. There was an expansion of the city on the right bank of the Rhine between 1922 and 1929, and the fairytale settlement was built. Manfred Faber (1879 - 1944) and Wilhelm Riphahn were their architects. Manfred Faber was murdered in Auschwitz. 181 single-family houses belong to this settlement and it was built in the area of the former Iddelsfeld estate. The houses were intended to be rented for the residents. In order to do justice to the name of the settlement, there are street names like "Märchenstraße" or "Aschenbrödelweg". It was based on an idea of "living like in a fairy tale". The tenants should have enough living space with their own garden. Vegetable growing and small animal husbandry were considered for the working families. Almost all houses in this settlement are listed buildings.

Carnival
KG UHU is the largest carnival party with the dance corps "Boore Schnäuzer Ballett" - Boore means farmers. The dance marie is by played by a man who is also stronger and taller than the dance officer. All members wear a mustache (mustache). Instead of a uniform, a tricorn, glasses and a frock coat are worn. Another peculiarity of this dance corp's carnival time is that instead of that Wooden rifle (firearm) to carry a "Paraplü" (umbrella). A striped "Pääd" (horse) accompanies the corps during the carnival. In the "Pääd" there are two members of the Corps, who perform an animal parody the other Cologne carnival companies. In 1974 and 1999 the KG provided the Cologne triumvirate.
